A NEW LETTER IN THE CODE?

IN LINE 2, THE 5TH LETTER IS NOT AN O

IS THIS A LETTER D?

In the above image, the 3 letters which are all supposedly the letter O, have been indicated.

However, the 2nd letter 'O' indicated in the second line, on closer inspection perhaps it's not an 'O'  but the letter D.

When you examine that letter closely, you will see that whilst the other 2 letters 'O', one on line 1 and the other on line 4, both are circular in shape, there is no full curve evident in the 2nd one. The same cannot be said for that letter on line 2. The arrow on line 2 is pointing to what is clearly an upright section, the upright of a letter D.

Here are the close-up views:

1. Close up showing straight line upright with numbers and letters showing within the 'D' as well as the surrounding letters and line through:

2. Same image as above but rotated 90 deg clockwise showing the number either X3258 or X3268:

I followed through on the X3268 number in Trove. It was an ad for a Willys car, shown below:

So far so good?

When you take the wording for that ad and apply the acrostic decoding method we have used before as in 7 consecutive number 'positioning' letters, in this case 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, the output is DANETTA.

The acrostic code is dependent on paragraph, line, word within line and then can be read from left or from the right in reverse order.

Here's the decode using that method:

D Line 1, 1st letter in De Luxe reading left to right
A Line 1, 2nd letter in Sedan reading right to left
N Line 2, 3rd letter in Condition reading left to right
E Line 3, 4th letter in Mileage reading right to left
T Line 4, 5th letter in 'SPECT' reading left to right
T Line 2, 6th letter in Condition reading left to right
A Line 5,7th letter in Broadway reading left to right

Note that the car is available for inspection at 75 Broadway, Glenelg and the date was the 13th May 1950.

There is another ad for a car with the telephone number X3268, it is for a 1936 Buick, a very short ad:

 Advertiser 8th June 1949.

There are numerous ads, including a lost 'marcasite' (sic) watch, with the number X3258 under the name of Mason and the address of 99A Mosely Street Glenelg. Other items for that number include a Vanguard car and a caravan, all under the name of Mason and all X3258.

I found a February 1947 Ad in the 'Argus', Melbourne for a child's nurse, in fact there were 3 children the number was in Brighton, X3258.

Yet another discovery in the Somerton Man mystery, will there be more to come? I think so...

There is another post shortly with more close up views of microcode on the code page and in the next day or so a post on the Boxall copy of the Rubaiyat. Will also update the post re Robin's Teeth this coming week.
